This year the Howth Photographic Club Summer Exhibition will take place over the weekend 8th to 10th of July in the Old Courthouse Harbour Road Howth.
Opening night and presentation of prizes will take place on Friday 8th of July at 7pm.
The format for the exhibition will be 10x8, 12x8 and 16x12 as follows:
The format for the “Howth Photographic Club Trophy” exhibition is a choice between 10x8 and 12x8 and the theme is “movement”
Suitable subjects for “movement” might be trains, bikes, cars, traffic at night, waterfalls, waves / spray, sports eg: kite surfing boat racing etc.. golf, dancing, birds / animals or you may prefer to try your own unique idea.
The format for the “Spirit of Howth Trophy” exhibition will be 16x12 and the theme will be Howth people / activities / scenery / culture & heritage etc.
Members wishing to exhibit photographs should book their place NOW by return email. It is only on receipt of bookings that we can calculate the number of photographs each member can enter. Suffice to say that members can enter a least one photograph in each section but this may change depending on bookings
To enter members must be fully subscribed for 2011. Membership of 35 euros can be paid at any upcoming meeting. Photographs should not have been exhibited in a previous club exhibition.
Volunteers will be required for the duration of the exhibition on Saturday and Sunday so please put your name forward for a two hour stint on the attached Roster
Volunteers are also required to procure spot prizes. So put your name forward particularly if you are friendly with a local business person or feel ok about approaching people for contributions
The time scale for entry is as follows:
1: Book now by return email to howthphotoclub@gmail.com stating the photograph size you wish to enter and if you have a club frame to suit.
2: Collection / Distribution of Frames Wednesday 22nd June
3: Latest date for receipt of Titles is Friday 1st July.
4: Framing night / Latest date for collection of entries is Wed 6th July.
Please carefully note the above time scale as failure to meet these deadlines will mean that while your entry may be exhibited it will not be eligible for the competitions
Tempus fugit. Although it may seem a long way away, six weeks will close in very quickly, so get shooting as soon as you can
