HOWTH 2010
The Howth Photographic Club, in conjunction with the Howth Peninsula Heritage Society, are undertaking a comprehensive photographic archive of the Howth Peninsula in 2010, providing a record of the built and natural scenic environment and the local activities. This will create an educational local history resource for future generations, which will be available through the societies, the libraries, Fingal county archive, and educational establishments. Every street, road, lane, and path will be included as well as every business, sport, social, religious, social service, vocational etc activity. The project will involve taking photographs in every part of the Peninsula, in many cases of individual private and public buildings. Because of the scope of the project, field photography is expected to take at least the rest of this year. This project is supported by Fingal County Council. Individual photographers will carry photo IDs and lists of all photographers’ details have been supplied to the Garda Siochana.
